John Deere commissioned us to create a high-impact 3D animation for the launch of the 8RX tractor — built for tradeshow environments where every second of attention counts. We combined Cinema 4D, Houdini, After Effects, and DaVinci Resolve to deliver a production that blends photorealistic rendering with kinetic motion design. The result is a film that moves as powerfully as the machine it represents.
The craft
Houdini simulations. Redshift rendering. Compositing that holds up on any screen.
The 8RX demanded technical precision beyond standard 3D work. We used Houdini for procedural simulation of mechanical systems and dynamics, Redshift for photorealistic rendering at production scale, and composited the final result with atmosphere, motion blur, and color grading in DaVinci Resolve — delivering a film that holds up on a 40-foot tradeshow screen.
